Day 7 was actually a few days ago, but I took a nice vacation to Sarasota, FL to visit my grandparents. I thought about taking pictures, but I'm not very good at remembering to do so. i'd rather just enjoy my time.
I do wish, however, that I took a picture of the Maracons that Melvin and I ate at Le Macaron in St. Armands Circle. I've made a point to go there when I'm in Sarasota, and am never disappointed.
Anyway...
Day 7 was another calm day. It was the last day of week 2, the calm before the storm. We were still working on organizing things we had pulled, but mainly worked on helping the woman in charge of costume stock with organization. Apparently, they had done some major remodeling and organizing to the previous stock, because everything was misplaced and it was hard to rent out any clothes because they couldn't even find them. They've done a good job in getting everything labeled and correctly placed, but the theatre is now working on getting every single costume piece in stock on to the computer using barcodes. It's a longggg, tedious job, but it makes renting out costumes so much easier.
The costume designer and costume shop manager began making their swatch boards for the dresses that need to be made. We pulled about 30 bright colored fabrics from stock to place together under the light and see how they would look together. They took swatches of all of the fabrics that worked well and stapled them to a board. The producers, managers, and even the people in the scene shop need to see what type of fabrics will be used, so they know how to pick the right lighting, stage the characters, and get a feel for the movement of the fabric on stage. The color palette is beautiful, so I'm excited to start working on the costumes.
Today (Monday) was a pretty big day, but I'll save that for later. I've been running around doing all of the errands I should have done this weekend, so today's busy schedule will be recapped tomorrow!

Ooh I want to go to Le Macaron when were in Sarasota for Christmas!
